Founded in 1971, The Libertarian Party is your representative in American politics as it is the only political organization which respects you as a unique and responsible individual.

Our slogan is that we are “The Party of Principle”, because we stand firmly on our principles.

Libertarians strongly oppose any government interference into their personal, family, and business decisions. Essentially, we believe all Americans should be free to live their lives and pursue their interests as they see fit as long as they do no harm to another.

The Alachua County Affiliate of the Libertarian Party of Florida’s mission is to promote individual liberty on the national and local level by promoting candidates and positions that support maximum freedom for the residents of the Alachua County Area.

Come hear Newberry Commissioner Tim Marden speak about The John Birch Society, its history, purpose and goals in the September installment of The Liberty Series.

The John Birch Society is a conservative advocacy group supporting anti-communism and limited government and overlaps The Libertarian Party in many political ideals.

Other groups, aside from just the Libertarian Party, advocate for limited government with different approaches, strengths and weaknesses. Learning more about these groups and establishing relationships with them helps us be more effective at obtaining pro-liberty outcomes in the areas in which we agree and sharpen our reason and understanding in the areas in which we may not.

After his presentation Tim will answer any questions you may have and the floor will be open for discussion and socializing. Following the break, anyone who wishes to stay for the Libertarian Party business meeting may do so.
